Sylvester Stallone backed by Starlight Culture to direct the new film “Special Forces”

During the 9th Beijing International Film Festival, Starlight Culture announced on April 18th that the company had already signed an impressive roster of veteran directors, including James Wan (Aquaman), Sylvester Stallone (The Expendables), Roland Emmerich (2012), Bryan Singer (X-Men), Robert Zemeckis (Forrest Gump), F. Gary Gray (Fast & Furious 8), Jon M. Chu (Crazy Rich Asians), Sam Raimi (Spider-Man), Alan Taylor (Thor: The Dark World), Jonathan Liebesman (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles), and Nattawut Poonpiriya (Bad Genius).

Meanwhile, Starlight Culture also announced the projects with these directors, including Border Patrol by James Wan, Echoes by F. Gary Gray, Special Forces by Sylvester Stallone, Scorpion by Jonathan Liebesman, Gold Mountain by Alan Taylor, Sophia of Silicon Valley by Jon M. Chu, Mystic Stone and Skeleton by Sam Raimi, Prisoner in His Palace by Robert Zemeckis, Dreamland by Roland Emmerich, and an unnamed original thriller movie with Nattawut Poonpiriya. DID, a Rise Group’s affiliated enterprises, will also participate in some of these projects.

Starlight Culture believes that those international top directors have rich experience in global marketing. In the past year, they have hauled in more than $3 billion globally and won various film awards including Oscar. While working with Starlight Culture on those film projects, they are also providing opportunities for China's new generation of directors to get access to the global film market. It will greatly contribute to the development of Chinese film talents and film industry, as well as to promote the cultural exchanges and mutual understanding between China and the West.
